Why post-construction cleanup is its own service
After a renovation or fit-out, a space looks "done" but is covered in fine particulate that settles for weeks afterward. Drywall dust, joint compound residue, sawdust, adhesive spatter, and construction debris work their way into vents, electrical outlets, carpet fibers, and every horizontal surface. A standard cleaning crew will move most of it around rather than remove it. Proper post-construction cleanup is a three-pass process that specifically addresses construction residue, and it's what separates a space that's genuinely ready for occupancy from one that will re-dust itself for a month.
For a deeper look at our process, see the blog post on post-renovation office cleaning.
The three-pass approach
- Rough clean — large debris removal, initial sweep, hauling of cardboard and packaging, large-particle vacuum
- Fine clean — HEPA vacuuming of all surfaces (including walls, vents, and inside cabinets), wet wipe-down of every horizontal surface, fixture detail, glass cleaning
- Touch-up clean — 24–72 hours later, a second pass that catches the fine dust that re-settled from the air after the initial clean
This third pass is what most providers skip, and it's also why so many "post-construction" cleans feel like they didn't quite take. Dust doesn't settle on one schedule.

Pricing
Post-construction cleanup typically runs in the range of $0.20–$0.40 per square foot depending on the amount of residual debris, the scope of detail required, and whether a touch-up pass is included. We always scope post-construction work with a walkthrough — the variation between projects is too large to price sight-unseen.
Why businesses choose ROCS for post-construction cleanup

- HEPA vacuuming for fine particulate that standard vacuums recirculate
- Scheduled touch-up visit when the project justifies it
- Coordination with GCs — scheduling around punch-list and inspections
- Licensed, bonded, and insured in New Hampshire
